Soo while i was searching up forge i found a fake website of forge that contains a infected installer of forge. Please take this seriously!

As much as we want to take every fake site down, Forge is not supported by a massive corporation with the funding and connections that such an endeavor would require.

Sadly the best we can do is try to educate everyone about the dangers of these fake sites, and on that note I highly recommend you check out the StopModReposts project, Forge is not affiliated with them but so far they are doing a good job of creating a list of sites that rehost mods without permission and they have a browser extension that will alert you when you visit a site on that list.

This is my Forum Signature, I am currently attempting to transform it into a small guide for fixing easier issues using spoiler blocks to keep things tidy.

 

As the most common issue I feel I should put this outside the main bulk:

The only official source for Forge is https://files.minecraftforge.net, and the only site I trust for getting mods is CurseForge.

If you use any site other than these, please take a look at the StopModReposts project and install their browser extension, I would also advise running a virus scan.
