Today I wanted to jump back into Minecraft after a long break. I wanted to do the things I had the most fun with back when I played it before. Shooting up some shit with the Flans Gun Mod.

So I went to the mod's webpage and found out I had to download Forge for the version 1.12.2. So I tried to do it. And at first, I thought I was successful in the first try. Since a new installation in the Minecraft Launcher with the name Forge 1.12.2 appeared (followed by a lot of other numbers). But every time I try to run that installation, the game crashes. I have tried removing it and adding it again. I have tried to find something in the list of installations but with no success. I'm not very good at stuff like this so excuse me if this is just me being an idiot but I would really appreciate some help :))

Post the debug log as described in the EAQ.

I'm so sorry

Is the debug log that little window that opens with Minecraft called "Minecraft game output"?

And if yes should I just copy paste it or is there a way to download a file thing with it?

Looks like you're trying to run a 1.7.10(or thereabouts) coremod in 1.12.2

This is my Forum Signature, I am currently attempting to transform it into a small guide for fixing easier issues using spoiler blocks to keep things tidy.

As the most common issue I feel I should put this outside the main bulk:

The only official source for Forge is https://files.minecraftforge.net, and the only site I trust for getting mods is CurseForge.

If you use any site other than these, please take a look at the StopModReposts project and install their browser extension, I would also advise running a virus scan.

For players asking for assistance with Forge please expand the spoiler below and read the appropriate section(s) in its/their entirety.

It means you’re trying to run a mod that was made for 1.7.10 on 1.12.2. This will never work. The mod should tell you that this will never work, but developers are lazy and don’t put the single line of code in to make this feature work.

You fix it by removing the mod.

To help you find out what mods you have and which ones are causing the error we need to know which ones you have installed
