Problem: When installing any vesion of forge i get the error message "These libraries failed to download. Try again." with a list of libraries that failed to download (I have seen the point in the common issues etc about missing libraries however the link i was supposed to go to in that forum doesn't exist so i'm not sure what to do also that mentioned missing scala files which arent the ones i have missing)

 

I'm on windows 10

 

What i've done so far:

watched every video on youtube about this as well as every forum with no fixes working as the list of libraries that have failed to download are not at all similar to ANY of the other examples which were all about "scala" files missing so any fixes i used from those didn't seem to do anything at all

used commands in cmd

reinstalled minecraft and forge etc

restarted PC

tried different versions of forge (i'm aiming to get 1.13.2 to work)

Please provide your installer log, it will be in the same directory as the installer and have the installers name but with .log on the end.

Hey DaemonUmbra i can't seem to find an installer log ive searched my entire pc using the search thing and checked my downloads etc and nothing seems to be an obvious log of the installations and stuff, is it possible that because the installation never actually occurred due to the error that there is no log? there is a ".json" at the end of one copy but is that what you mean?

Chances are you have Windows Explorer set to hide file extensions, if that is the case it will look like this:

Installer: forge-{version}-installer

Log: forge-{version}-installer.jar

 

If you set Windows Explorer to show file extensions they'll show up like they really are:

Installer: forge-{version}-installer.jar

Log: forge-{version}-installer.jar.log

There's nothing in that log, on your most recent run of the installer did you just open it and close it or did you try to run the install process?

Thats me having run it, that was the only log file there was but what was weird was that it was 5-6 hours ago when i've tried to run forge multiple times after that, to make sure it wasn't empty and was more recent i ran forge again with the same error etc but it didn't say it was modified when i went to look for a newer log file so yeah not sure what that means

It doesn't help actually, every run the installer replaces that file, it doesn't make a new one with a new name.

Run the install process again and send the new log.
