Hi, this is my first time using forge and I watched many tutorials on how to installing it that were 1-3 weeks ago using the 1.14.3 update. When I click installer, wait till it finishes downloading and open it, it keeps saying "How do you want to open this file" and the options are Internet Explored, Notepad, Look for an app in the store, Paint, Windows media player, and Word Pad. It also says "Minecraft Installer" but when I click on that it says "This app can't run on your PC"  Seeing as in the tutorials nothing like this happened, I wasn't quite sure what to do so I went through comments with similar problems but no answers. I would seriously appreciate the help, sorry for being a noob lmao.

1. Do not follow tutorials on YouTube, especially TechnoVision (previously called Loremaster) and HarryTalks, due to their promotion of bad practice and usage of outdated code.

2. Always post your code.

3. Never copy and paste code. You won't learn anything from doing that.

@DavidM I already have Java downloaded and installed.

IIRC Minecraft comes with its own Java thingy. Having Minecraft installed does not mean you have Java on your machine.

To check if you have Java installed, run

java -version

in the command line.
