Water & Lava Textures

Hey, I have just installed Equivalent Exchange which needs forge but this has happened in the past,

I log into minecraft and whenever i open a world the water is plain blue and the lava is plain red.

If I alter any settings on optifine the water and lava textures disappear. Please can you help me?

 

(If I ever install forge then the water & lava textures are still weird. Using the most recent build)

Reinstall optifine and make sure you're using a compatible version

compatible version of what might i ask?

Of optifine, any of the C series should work, but try the latest C.
