Posted February 4, 20205 yr So I want to install Forge, but the installer won't run. I have no idea how to use java to run the file - I have tried to install it, but I cannot find the executable file to run the Forge installer with. Please help!!
February 4, 20205 yr Theoretically, if you used an installer for Java it should have associated with .JAR files, so you should be able to just double-click the Forge installer and launch it that way. I assume you're using Windows?

I assume you're using Windows? I double click, and a window opens for a split second and closes again. Nothing further happens.

If you are, please post a screenshot or exactly what it shown in the console, as well as a screenshot of the folder showing the forge installer. This will help determine what is going wrong.
February 9, 20205 yr javac is the java compiler; just use java also, you need -jar before the filename.
