Fuyuno Sora Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 So, I added the Cubic Chunks Mod and then installed the ExRollerCoaster Mod, and they proved incompatible. So, I went to the mod list to attempt to disable it and it shows a pinkish-red text above the "Disable" button when I select on the Cubic Chunks Mod and clicking it doesn't do anything. Anything I can do other than uninstalling the mod altogether? Quote
Alpvax Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 Alternatively, you could rename the jar file (make sure file extensions are enabled) to <mod>.jar.disabled. Forge only loads jar files, and that trick has been used by many modpacks/launchers in the past (for example Twitch launcher). Quote

Are you sure you want to change it?", is it safe to change it and rename it back or might it corrupt the file? I'd assume it wouldn't considering you're recommending it but I want to be absolutely certain. Thanks in advance. Quote
Alpvax Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 (edited) Changing the file extension doesn't affect the file, it's just a name. However, trying to open a changed file could cause whatever program usually opens it to fail (File being "unusable"). An alternative would be to just move the file to a different folder on the system. Or just delete it and download it again later if you want to start using it (Possibly a better option anyway, because the mod might be updated in the meantime, and it's not a good idea to play the same world with different mods to before).
