Hello,

I have a problem with downloading the recommended version of forge for minecraft 1.15.2 (so I can install some mods). I have the latest version of java downloaded.

So I dowloaded the installer and when I click on the JAR. file in downloads I see a small black screen for a split second (probably java) and then it dissapears.

Can someone please help me?

diesieben07 I don't think im doing it correctly but it says it can't find the file

command I used: java -jar <jar_forge-1.15.2-31.1.0-installer>.jar
outcome: The system cannot find the file specified.

Then you probably got the filename wrong. Leave out the < and > they're usually just placeholders. Once you start typing the filename (i.e. "forge", no quotes) then pressing tab should auto-complete for you. If it does not, you may not be in the correct folder, typing "dir" (again, no quotes) will give you the list of files in the folder you are currently in.

Can you show a screenshot or exact copy/paste of what you mean? You either need to install Java 8 (if that is what it cannot find) or need to use cd to change directory into the folder that contains the forge installer. Do you know where you saved it?

1: java -jar jar_forge-1.15.2-31.1.0-installer.jar
Error: Unable to access jarfile jar_forge-1.15.2-31.1.0-installer.jar.

I have java 8 installed and I haven't saved forged installer yet. I acces it via downloads.
