I downloaded forge 31.2.0 and it came up with how to open it, not sure what to do as the video I was watching didnt have this happen. I have java (64 and 32 in my c drive) and when i try to open it comes up with an error. Previously I didnt have this problem when downloading an oloder version; not too sure about the thing with the logs as stated in the rules, debug is empty. Downloaded mc and java on c drive, forge is on d drive, thanks.

I would remove the 32 bit java, it is not necessary.

 

Then google jarfix, get it and run it, that should fix your jar file association.

I just feel really dumb xD. Thanks a lot man its fixed.

Im having this problem where the start.bat file is popping up a message saying java isnt recognised as a internal/external command.

 

java -Xmx4G -Xms4G -jar forge-1.15.2-31.2.0.jar nogui

Then that means that your java is not located in your path, and you must either specify the full path to it, or add the folder it is in to the path.

how do i do that? Sorry to be a pain.

You will have to locate your java installation, specifically the folder java.exe is in.

Then use that in place of where you simply have java in your batch file command.

Probably safer not to mess with the system path/environment variables if you don't know what you're doing, you could wipe them out and that would be a big pain.

Got another error:

unable to install java there are errors with the following switches:

 "-Xmx1024M" "-Xms1024M" " "-jar" "forge-1.15.2-31.2.0.jar" "nogui"

This is in the bat file :

C:\javadown\java.exe -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar forge-1.15.2-31.2.0.jar nogui

Then that is not where you installed java, based on the error I would say that is the java installer that does the installing of java on your system.

I think I found it but its in a file called "Program Files" and it comes up with a error saying "c:\Program" is not recognised as a command.

try putting quotes around it like "C:\Program Files\Java\bin\java.exe"

Says its not recognised as a command.

Show me a screenshot of what you tried

The problem is you are specifying the folder your java installation is in, not the java.exe.

find the java.exe (it's probably in the bin folder), and use the full path to that inside the quotes.

wheres the .bin file?

 

That took way too long but im pretty sure its working now thanks so much guys it means the world.
