Posted June 7, 20205 yr I need it so that when I right-click a block, a GUI will pop up. I am new to modding, and I can't find anything that works online.
June 7, 20205 yr Use onBlockActivated() to dectect when the user right-clicks a block For example in the class which you put your block properties Spoiler @Override public ActionResultType onBlockActivated(BlockState state, World worldIn, BlockPos pos, PlayerEntity playerIn, Hand handIn, BlockRayTraceResult hit) { // Code return super.onBlockActivated(state, worldIn, pos, playerIn, handIn, hit); } What GUI? What is it supposed to be, just a simple gui with buttons? Or a container example your inventory. I'm also new, but I help when I know I can Edited June 7, 20205 yr by Slastic
June 13, 20205 yr hey slastic, so where would you actually make it open the gui, like where do you actually input your gui into that code? Edited June 13, 20205 yr by jakethesnake123

If your GUI has a server-side container counter-part, use NetworkHooks::openGui on the server side (by checking if World#isRemote is false). Edited June 13, 20205 yr by DavidM Some tips: Spoiler Modder Support: Spoiler 1. Do not follow tutorials on YouTube, especially TechnoVision (previously called Loremaster) and HarryTalks, due to their promotion of bad practice and usage of outdated code. 2. Always post your code. 3. Never copy and paste code. You won't learn anything from doing that. 4. Quote Programming via Eclipse's hotfixes will get you nowhere 5. Learn to use your IDE, especially the debugger. 6. Quote The "picture that's worth 1000 words" only works if there's an obvious problem or a freehand red circle around it. Support & Bug Reports: Spoiler 1. Read the EAQ before asking for help. Remember to provide the appropriate log(s). 2. Versions below 1.11 are no longer supported due to their age. Update to a modern version of Minecraft to receive support.
