I have a Mac and I have forge "downloaded" onto the launcher, but whenever I try to launch Minecraft with the forge installation it crashes or it brings me back to the launcher and says that it crashes. I've watched around ten videos and none of them have worked. I have a clean file with no mods already downloaded.

A file called debug.log, your OS's file browser should have a search function.

It's sad how much time mods spend saying "x is no longer supported on this forum. Please update to a modern version of Minecraft to receive support".

I got in touch with apple support and they helped me find these logs, I hope that this works.

Please read the Logs section of my signature below and provide the appropriate log in the appropriate manner.

This is my Forum Signature, I am currently attempting to transform it into a small guide for fixing easier issues using spoiler blocks to keep things tidy.

As the most common issue I feel I should put this outside the main bulk:

The only official source for Forge is https://files.minecraftforge.net, and the only site I trust for getting mods is CurseForge.

If you use any site other than these, please take a look at the StopModReposts project and install their browser extension, I would also advise running a virus scan.

For players asking for assistance with Forge please expand the spoiler below and read the appropriate section(s) in its/their entirety.

If that is all you're capable of providing then we won't be able to help you, there's basically no info there.

Please look up how to use your computer's filesystem.

Please provide your installer log, it will have the same name as the installer but with .log on the end:

Installer: forge-{version}-installer.jar

Log: forge-{version}-installer.jar.log

Note: If you have Windows Explorer set to hide file extensions(as is the default setting), they will look like this:

Installer: forge-{version}-installer

Log: forge-{version}-installer.jar

Uninstall every version of Java that you have, then reinstall the latest Java 8 HotSpot.

I get my Java from https://adoptopenjdk.net

Please show the error that it spits out when you try to run the installer.

Note that the launcher is useless without everything else in place
