joaogl Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Hello, I've created a block just like snow and I saw there a function( harvestBlock ) and is only called when the block is breaked with the right tool... but how can I define that tool? Quote
joaogl Posted May 22, 2013 Author Posted May 22, 2013 Ok.... It's working.. for those who dont know how to do it.. Its not on the block class (Like I thought) but its on the tool class, with this u should be able to do it... But there other thing... how can I make a block unbreakable except using a special tool? Mew Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 In the blocks constructor you could probably do an if statement that checks if the item the player is using is the item you want to break the block with, and if it isn't set the block to unbreakable. joaogl Posted May 23, 2013 Author Posted May 23, 2013 And how can I do that? I really dont know. Quote
Draco18s Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 From Block.java /** * Determines if the player can harvest this block, obtaining it's drops when the block is destroyed. * * @param player The player damaging the block, may be null * @param meta The block's current metadata * @return True to spawn the drops */ public boolean canHarvestBlock(EntityPlayer player, int meta) { return ForgeHooks.canHarvestBlock(this, player, meta); } From the wiki MinecraftForge.setBlockHarvestLevel(myFirstBlock, "pickaxe", 2); Quote Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable. joaogl Posted May 23, 2013 Author Posted May 23, 2013 I've added the: MinecraftForge.setBlockHarvestLevel(myBlock, "myshovel", 2); on the init and added the: public static final Block[] blocksEffectiveAgainst = new Block[] { MyMod.myBlock}; public myBlock(int par1, EnumToolMaterial par2EnumToolMaterial, String texture) { super(par1, 2, par2EnumToolMaterial, blocksEffectiveAgainst); this.texture = texture; this.toolMaterial = par2EnumToolMaterial; this.maxStackSize = 1; } on the block class what else I should do? I cant apply the canHarvestBlock code in the block class because I dont have the player entity.... Quote
Draco18s Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I cant apply the canHarvestBlock code in the block class because I dont have the player entity.... It's called an override function for a reason. The player is passed to that function when it gets called from vanilla code.
