I use Shockbyte for my server hosting, and their tutorial says to download the installer for Forge, install the server in a temporary folder, and rename the universal.jar file that shows up afterwards to custom.jar and place it into the server using FileZilla.

When I first did this with Forge 1.16.2-33.0.5 I managed to get it done straight away, but whenever I do it with 33.0.20 I end up with no universal file. Downloading the universal.jar file from the Forge files causes my server to crash instantly upon start up. I feel like I'm missing something.

Here's what it's meant to look like according to the tutorial:

Here's what I get:

Putting in any of the .jar files generated by using the installer causes my server to crash on start-up, as does the universal.jar I can download. Putting in either the launcher or the installer causes the same thing. Am I just missing something? Am I pressing a button I shouldn't press? This was so easy the first time, and after trying to do it again with 1.16.20-33.0.5 I didn't get a universal.jar then either! What am I missing?

Thanks.

the install process changed in 1.13+

The 'universal' jar is now in the libraries folder.

And the 'unnamed' jar is what you run instead.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.
