How to give an effect to a player when an item is in a container

Hi. im trying to make a container that when it has an item in it it will give a potion effect to a player in a radius. im using the detectandSendChanges overide but i cant seem to access player. and when i add player to the container itself it wont register. do i have to make a new class to detect what is in the container

Containers don't exist unless the player is actively looking at it. You want your TileEntity to generate the effect.

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.
