Posted November 11, 20204 yr So... I heard that forge changed almost st entirely the code in 1.13, and the code for 1.12.2 is VERY different then 1.13+, but I don't know what should I code on. I want to learn how to code forge mods, and I can't decide these things: - 1.12 or 1.13+ - which version - where to learn (what tutorial) So, if you can help me decide those things that would be really helpful. And please link a tutorial so I can learn how to code mods. Thanks! Edited November 13, 20204 yr by NadDeMan
November 11, 20204 yr For your first question you should always go for the latest (1.16.4) 1.14 and below is unsupported so you won't get any help with your problems here (hence why you shouldn't use 1.12) Honestly for tutorials I would rely on open-source mods and the forge docs, they contain lot's of information that made me acknowledge lot's of new mechanics, it made me switch from 1.7.10 to 1.16.3 in a matter of seconds! You can also try looking at tutorials like McJty's they're not really up-to-date but they might get the idea inside your brain, link https://wiki.mcjty.eu/modding/index.php?title=YouTube-Tutorials to summurize this, don't use 1.12, 1.13 or 1.14, they're unsupported by forge and it's unlikely for anyone to use your mod if on those versions (especially 1.12 and 1.13 now) Edited November 11, 20204 yr by MostafaSabry55
