I am trying to set up a minecraft forge server on an old mac for me to use but everytime I install forge to the .jar, the Terminal says it is corrupt. I also tried using a .command file to start the server, but to no avail. I also tried following the Bukkit Mac Server setup guide, (changing all the "craftbukkit.jar's" to minecraft_server.jar's of course) but it didn't work. Also I tested the same jar on a windows and it worked fine. Any help would be much appreciated.

J2SE 5.0, but the vanilla server works fine, or is that just a forge requirement.

Forge and many other modding things as well as almost every mod itself requires Java6 because of required features, speed, and the fact that you cannot really find Java5 anymore.  Java5 is quite literally 0% of the modding community and less then 2% of overall MC usage according to Mojangs own stats.  :(

I guess that makes sense. I can always load linux onto the mac and use that. Thanks for the help.

Can I load linux onto a ppc mac?

So, what would happen if I did push that shiny red button over there? ... Really? ... Can I try it? ... Damn.
