Hello, When I start Forge, the loading screen appears first, but when Forge has finished loading, the game crashes and I get the error "Failed to find service port for display". I'm playing with Big Sur on a 2020 MacBook. I haven't installed any mods and this is the first time I've used Forge on my computer.

Known issue with Apple Silicon devices, they changed the graphics API and GLFW evidently wasn't given time to switch over, so now we wait for either Apple to add backwards compatibility, or for GLFW, LWJGL, and Mojang to accommodate the change in sequence.

The only official source for Forge is https://files.minecraftforge.net, and the only site I trust for getting mods is CurseForge.

Do NOT use sites like Mediafire, Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, or a site that has a countdown before offering downloads.

Post your installer log, found in the same place you ran the installer

This log will be called either installer.log or named the same as the installer but with .log on the end

Note for Windows users:

Windows hides file extensions by default so the installer may appear without the .jar extension then when the .log is added the log will appear with the .jar extension

Where to get it:

Mojang Launcher: When using the Mojang launcher debug.log is found in .minecraft\logs.

Curse/Overwolf: If you are using the Curse Launcher, their configurations break Forge's log settings, fortunately there is an easier workaround than I originally thought, this works even with Curse's installation of the Minecraft launcher as long as it is not launched THROUGH Twitch:

  Do you have shaders enabled? There is an issue with the mod simpleclouds - remove this mod or disable shaders, if enabled
- Minecraft 1.21.8 - Forge 58.0.6 won't load texture.

  Maybe you need to create file in assets/<modid>/items/<itemname>.json with content like this: { "model": { "type": "minecraft:model", "model": "modname:item/itemname" } }
