1.12.2 forge not opening

I tried opening forge version 1.12.2 to install it but it wont open. all it dose is flash a black command prompt box and then close very quickly. I tried this with 1.12 and it opened just fine and showed up on my Minecraft. I have tried multiple fixes for jar files and reinstalling it but it wont work. when I downloaded 1.12 I clicked "windows installer" but when I tried to do that on 1.12.2 there was not option for that. any help would be greatly appreciated! I need to get on a server and I cant right now

I also realize this might be against some of the rules so if I'm doing something wrong please tell me and I will work it out.

1.12 is no longer supported on this forum.

Please update to a modern version of Minecraft to receive support.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.
