Add --username {{username}} and --password {{password}} to your launch arguments.

It seems to be coming up with an error: Unknown command-line option '--username'.

(I'm using IntelliJ)

Where did you add them exactly?

Edit Configurations...

then added to Arguments.

They need to be in Program arguments, not JVM arguments.

Okay, how would I do that?
They're not under 'VM Options'.

Actually - never mind that. You should add them in the build.gradle in the run configs.

Then re-run the genXXXRuns task.

I added them under minecraft/runs/args and then re-ran genIntellijRuns but runClient was still unauthenticated.

Okay, managed to find the solution.

under minecraft/runs/client I set args to '--username', 'Insert EMAIL Here', '--password', 'Insert Password Here' and then runClient.

I didn't need to genIntellijRuns.
