Posted January 15, 20214 yr Hi, I am trying to use a OBJ object file to render an item. All the Forge tutorial information is outdated. Like you can no longer do OBJLOADER.INSTANCE.ADDDOMAIN or whatever. I am finding it really difficult, could someone help. Also if anyone has any good sites to learn how to make mods I would appreciate it (all the information i can find it outdated) ModelFile tree = getExistingFile(modLoc("models/tree.obj")); getBuilder("titanium_ingot").parent(tree).texture("layer0", "item/titanium_ingot"); This is my code, I am just trying to render it to anything right now. I also tried this. OBJModel m = OBJLoader.INSTANCE.loadModel(new OBJModel.ModelSettings(new ResourceLocation(Modularmissiles.MODID, "models/tree.obj"), false, false, false, false, "")); But none of them seem to find my obj object
January 15, 20214 yr All things model related should be done through data generation. As such, there happens to be a test that adds in an obj model loader. You can even look at the commit history to see how to currently implement it.
