1.6.1 installer won't open

When i try to open the installer it opens a cmd window and closes immediately. It shows "Error: could not find or load main class....". It also happens when I try to open it from cmd.

I have windows 8 64 bit and java 7 if it matters...

What do I do?

This isnt releated to forge btw.

You should probably redownload the launcher if you are taking about the launcher.

If you are talking about the forge profile delete that and install it again with the installer download

You need to fix your .jar file associations.

The installer works fine.

Have you tried to right click the installer, choose "open with", then select Java? If you have .jar files associated with something else it can mess things up.. may also want to check that your version of Java is updated or that you have JRE installed maybe?

Hello, I know how to fix this ( )

This is what you have to do:

1. Place the forge installer (.jar) Into a new folder

2. Rename the launcher to forge.jar

3. Open notepad and copy and paste this into notepad:

java -Xmx1024M -jar forge.jar -o true

PAUSE

4. Save this as: start.bat -->> !! SAVE IT AS A .bat FILE!! NOT AS TXT!!

5. Save it in the same folder where you saved your forge.jar

6. Run the .bat file and it will open up, this worked for me!!

I hope you will enjoy forge now!

I did that and it still did the same thing... im not trying to be a noob but I probably sound like one Im just not good with mods and stuff. Also is there a different .bat file I would need for 1.6.2?

A cavy is a guinea pig, for those who dont know. And yes I realize my username is really stupid.

How do I remove 3d headlayer on NPC's skin in CustomNpc? (1.16.5)

I know this was posted almost 3 years ago but this is for anyone who is still looking for an answer.

First, find your config folder. -> C:\Users\ (desktop user's name) \curseforge(or the application where you've downloaded you mod)\minecraft\Instances\config (The config folder should be in the same folder as your mods folder.) Once you click on the config folder, search for CustomNpcs.cfg. Once found, click on it (you can edit it using notepad) and search for the line "headweartype". Set the value to 0 if you want a 2d head layer, set it to 1 for a 3d head layer. Then save the options and you should be good to go from there! :)
