Minecraft's built-in Java runtime is incomplete, corrupt, or missing... strange.
Delete C:\Program Files (x86)\Minecraft\runtime and run the launcher again
In the future please don't post cellphone pictures, if you need to provide pictures please provide proper screenshots.
What would be more helpful are logs, debug.log in particular (more info in my signature below)
If you're looking to pick a version and stick with it you're not going to have a good time.
Minecraft and Forge are ever-evolving pieces of software and we only provide user/modder support for the most recent major version and the most recent old version (currently 1.16.X and 1.15.X, respetively).
Most people who picked a version and stuck with it are in one of two places:
1.12.2 was the latest version for a long time before 1.13 came out and some people still complain that their favorites haven't been ported and they refuse to leave them behind and find new mods.
1.8.9 was the last version before 1.9 changed combat to not favor auto-clickers and some people can't get over that
Note that we still get support requests from both of these groups even though we repeatedly say that we only support modern versions
Please don't hijack other people's threads. If you have an issue make your own in the appropriate subforum (your issue sounds more like a support request than a general discussion)
Version named folders are not searched anymore, the feature was dropped during the 1.12.2 -> 1.13 update because the Minecraft Launcher has an "Installations" (more like Instances or Profiles) feature now.
First off, be patient. There is no reason to make multiple threads just a couple minutes apart. (Merged)
Second, I don't understand what's so hard about "Get the Installer from the files page and run it"
I do love when people say "I have the same issue", meaning either they have the same issue and haven't tried the fix already given to the original poster, or they don't have the same issue but think crashing is a single kind of issue.
