Where can I get modding advice for 1.12? Not allowed to ask about it here, but does anyone know anywhere else I can ask for it? I have a specific problem that I can only find one thread about, and it's been closed because it's 1.12

Just a bit curious, I'm trying to get an item by name, but Item#getByNameOrId is now just Item#getById. How would I get an item by it's text name? Why is it only the number ID?

Any post asking about anything related to 1.7.10 is immediately closed by Forum staff, instead of letting the community help the poster out, why is this?
