  1. Well, we feel for you. Hate waiting.
  2. Well, forge does this to prevent modpack (as in, HELP ME GET FORGE IT NO WORKY) distribution. And if you turn off the snooper, it won't use any more bandwidth than sending an email.
  3. Does nobody know how to do this? Must be one of azanor's closely guarded secrets.
  4. I'm working on adding a pollution api into my mod, and I was wondering how to attach the data to chunks when a world is saved, much like thaumcraft does the vis and taint.
  5. I use MultiMC, and, oddly, it fixes a bad video card drivers error with vanilla MC. The console prints something about non-translucent icons, and I go play, no problems. However, forge, for some odd reason, ups the requirements beyond what MultiMC can handle, and it crashes. Same error as vanilla without MMC. I've tried everything (except outright buying a new computer/GPU) to fix this, and I've narrowed the problem to forge. I (as well as hundreds of other people with competent machines but not high-end) would really appreciate it if forge would not raise the requirements (if it does, unless it's something to do with META-INF) unless absolutely necessary. Thank you.
  6. That's the biodecelerator, right? And the items... *collapses with awe* Now, you have to pay for my funeral.
  7. That would be cool...
  8. TMI? Pish posh. Use NEI, it's forge compatible. (And better)
  9. I know it needs hd fix thats y i used to use mc patcher before i found clay soldiers. Yes I would like this moved i figured Forge forums had to be directly about forge thats why i figured it should be in here. Soo when u gave me those 4 options did u mean MultiMC OR? Optifine? or do i use multiMC to install optifine? or are you saying optifine does what multimc does? Edit: I tried adding optifine with multiMC and started minecraft it made it all the way to the main menu for a split 2 seconds and then crashed. Well, it crashed is a great description. Manually install optifine and forge, forge first.
  10. Use the getTextureFromSideAndMetadata
  11. First: Never. Use. MCPatcher. Second: Forge has support for up to 128x texture packs! Third: Magiclauncher has issues. Use MultiMC. Fourth: To install forge, remove meta-inf from minecraft.jar. On a server, don't remove meta inf. Yes, I know the client is a server too, but DELETE META INF ANYWAY.
  12. Oh? So should the client stuff go in the client proxy? Yes. And you're not even telling the client that it even has a texture index...
  13. Yes, but Its my own mod I'm trying to decompile (long story) All Tutorials on google give these instructions: 1. Put mod in jar. 2. add all needed stuff. 3. decompile. Well, that obviously does not work, so I don't know these "certain" things. You are pretty much screwed, you have to run a forge install differently.
  14. Excellent, that means I'll be able to code the wires.
  15. You need to port to the new FML methods.
  16. I can send packets updating the client with the proper data, that isn't the issue. I just don't want to be sending packets every 1/2 a second to every player in range of any of my blocks. On a busy server with lots of my blocks, that would be a lot of packet traffic for absolutely no use. There's got to be some event or method that I can use to send updated information to players that enter the visual range. Like when the server sends the chunk to a player... Well, the event bus may have something for you.
  17. 1. CMD output from the process? 2. Did you follow the installation instructions?
  18. Well, when their TE's send a packet, they include that data. I've tested it.
  19. Well, you'll have to be able to: Figure out when the texture changes. Easy. Figure out who has the right textures. Send packets and update who's got them. Just do those things. Can't be more help, I *suck* at packets and things.
  20. I think Option B is more feasible. (Is feasibler even a word?)
  21. Tomorrow, Wednesday, whatever! Just get em done!
  22. Hey, whatever you want to do. I know they'll be good.
  23. Well, I'm fairly sure you can.... What does your pack include?
  24. Right. 32x32 texture sheets. But and 64x textures would be so awesome.
  25. Why would I do that? Optifine is the good one, MCPatcher is the shit one. But yes, FML detects optifine and sticks a fake mod container in there so people can detect it as a mod. Oh. I get the two mixed up sometimes, and I wans't really awake... Anyway, that's a pretty easy way to detect mods.
