  1. The reason I'm asking if a client side fix is possible is because I do not own the server in question.
  2. 1. Download installer (just "Installer," not "Installer-win.") 2. Locate the downloaded jar (usually in the default Downloads folder.) 3. Open installer. 4. Close the Minecraft launcher if it's open. 5. "Install client" 6. Click "OK." 7. Once it's done, open the Minecraft launcher. 8. To the left of the "Play" button, there's an arrow button. Click the arrow for a list of Profiles. 9. Locate a profile named "forge" and click it to select. 10. Click the "Play" button to start Minecraft Forge.
  3. Okay. I know this is more of a bug with Minecraft itself. If running a 1.10.2 Forge client and playing a 1.10 server, there's difficulty walking on farmland due to a 1.10.2 update changing the shape of farmland. Any way to fix this, or a mod to patch it?
  4. How long has version specific mods folders been a thing? I used to do seperate directories for each version, and noticed the version specific mods folders only recently after adding LiteLoader.
  5. java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 4096
  6. Resolution, frames, or total file size? Seems just matching the resolution doesn't work.
  7. So does ".minecraft\resources\assets\fml\textures\gui\forge.gif" not change it anymore?
  8. Could you please explain the exact constraints for a custom loading screen gif?
  9. Hey! What exactly are the constraints for creating a gif for the loading screen? (Not a bug, so I'm putting this topic here.) For those who don't know, you can change the loading screen gif with ".minecraft\resources\assets\fml\textures\gui\forge.gif"
  10. Apparently, one of the mods don't like that "0" between the "16" and the "19." The numbers 12.16.0.1942 (latest build at the time) looks inferior to many earlier builds because of the "0." Might just be a typo.
  11. The .jar came with everything else. I only found it by opening the file location from the desktop shortcut and trying each .jar hoping for one to do what I need.

  13. I posted the logs in a previous topic here. No one saw any errors, so the assumption was there's an outside program messing with it. My protection does not detect any viruses, the Java version doesn't seem to be the problem since setting it to use the regular Java (jre1.8.0_91 from Java.com) doesn't let the .exe launch Forge, and already tried reinstalling from minecraft.net If .jar is safe to use, than the .exe is dead to me. Why wouldn't I want it to default to the more recent Java anyway?

  15. I was just asking if launcher.jar is safe to use since MinecraftLauncher.exe wouldn't work with Forge. Was unsure since launcher.jar took some digging to get to.

  17. Can I ask what OS you're using? Could I also ask for you to provide your Java version? I've never seen the MinecraftLauncher.exe NOT work and the jar file WORK, the usual case is that the .exe works but the .jar doesn't. I'm using Windows 10 and the default Java for MineCraft. The MinecraftLauncher.exe works for vanilla, but crashes when trying to start Forge. launcher.jar does not crash when starting Forge.

  19. Okay. My MineCraft still crashes if I open the launcher with the provided shortcut, but it seems to work fine if I open the launcher by "C:\Program Files (x86)\Minecraft\game\launcher.jar" instead of "Minecraft\MinecraftLauncher.exe" Is this safe?

  21. And still crashing after Windows updates. I would like to state again that vanilla MineCraft and Liteloader works just fine.

  23. Nevermind. Just tried 1.8 and it crashed. Mistook correlation for causation. Must be a Windows 10 problem.
