Minecraft Forge crashes when installing mods that directly edit the 1.6.2.jar

whenever I try to install any mods that directly edit the 1.6.2.jar (or any other version.jar) with minecraft forge the games crashes apon start of the game it crashes.

i installed minecraft forge first using the installer and it ran fine

there are 3 mods that edited the 1.6.2.jar that i have installed that on their own with the same install and they work fine, but if i try to install minecraft forge then these mods it crashes

here is the ForgeModLoader-client-0 in a zip file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/qmodgb76xo153ug/minecraft%20forge%20error.zip

Intentional, don't edit your jar, if you use a mod that tells you to, go tell them to stop.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

But they work on their own, just not with forge

Also the mods are optifine, reis minimap and a water shader, 2 of which are incredibly popular mods, why should minecraft forge make sure we can't use them?

We don't care if you use them, We just care if you edit your jar.

None of those mods NEED to edit the jar.

Least of which Reis.

If you put those mod files into the mods folder as a zip, then they work. I have not seen them edit a jar file? Unless you are downloading the SkyDaz installers of course then you have no idea what they are doing behind the scenes.

Wait so I can just put the mod in the mods folder? Even if on the thread it says to put in the 1.6.2.jar?

If the mod is a zip file, try putting it in the mods folder then start up minecraft launcher using your forge profile. All of my mods are in the mods folder.

IF IT IS A BASE EDIT MOD YOU CANT PUT IT IN THE MODS FOLDER

Again to restate. Forge has never, And will never support editing of the jar file.

Anyone who does so takes sole responsibility for what happens.

Please speak with the authors of your jar editing mods for instructions on how to install with Forge.
