I keep getting this error whe 

The game crashed whilst rendering overlay
Error: java.lang.NullPointerException: Registry Object not present: minecraft:empty
Exit Code: -1

This happens after the game goes into full screen but before the main menu can load.

One of your mods needs to update to the new Fluid implementation.

You could check if all Mods are up to date, otherwise you can do nothing without having a lot of work
