Posted July 30, 20223 yr I keep getting the "Failed to run processor: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException:PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target" error when trying to install the forge launcher for 1.18.2. I can't track down the error log either as I do not know where it is or what to do with it. Help would be appreciated.
July 30, 20223 yr This is usually caused by having a very old version of java installed. Try updating it, or downloading a more recent release: https://adoptium.net/ It can also be caused by wrong configuration in your hosts file. c:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts or /etc/hosts on other OSes. Boilerplate: If you don't post your logs/debug.log we can't help you. For curseforge you need to enable the forge debug.log in its minecraft settings. You should also post your crash report if you have one. If there is no error in the log file and you don't have a crash report then post the launcher_log.txt from the minecraft folder. Again for curseforge this will be in your curseforge/minecraft/Install Large files should be posted to a file sharing site like https://gist.github.com You should also read the support forum sticky post.
July 30, 20223 yr Author I've installed and run 1.18.2, the official release, on computer, so it can't be outdated. What config errors should I be looking for in hosts?
