Server setup?

Hye! :D

I want to set up a server with the technic pack on it. (http://www.technicpack.net/tekkit/)

I followed all the instructions and after some time I got it working.

I thought so, I wanted to login and this error appeared:

"This server requires you to have Minecraft Forge installed. http://MinecraftForge.net/"

I want to download it but don't know how. I know their are tutorials but can't find one that hasn't got those strange words in it (MCP...). Can someone give me a tutorial or a guide how to installl this?

And where do I put it then? In the folder of the server?

Help is much appreciated. :D

Thanks in advance! (Sorry if there are some faults in this topic, english is not my main language)

;)

My intention here isn't to be rude, but the guys over at Technic have their own forums for support. Please, for future reference, ask them for Technic support, as they're in charge of the problems Technic users have. Click here to go to the Technic Forums.

As much as you should download it and install it yourself, Tekkit does it for you. You need to make sure that your Tekkit, once selected, is set to the corresponding version of the server you're trying to launch. For instance, if you're trying to run the current version of Tekkit (3.1.2), then you'll need to set your launcher to run that same version.

Open your TechnicLauncher and go to "Options". Once in there, choose your build manually (the third bubble option, I think) and then choose the correct version from the drop-down in the top-right of the options menu. The version you choose, again, needs to match the version of the server you're wanting to run. From there, you press the "OK" button and Login.

Assuming you extracted the Tekkit server files to a folder already, run the "launch.bat" from said folder, and the server should be up and running for you to join.

That's all that can really be said. You'll need to get further detail from the people at Technic. Sorry if I couldn't be of any more help. :S

Check out my

Texture Packs Thread here on the Forge Forum. :)

Currently in the process of adding some mod support for JohnSmith Texture Pack.
