Illegal Packet Error on Multiplayer Modded Minecraft

My friend and I are trying to play some multiplayer modded minecraft hosted on his computer and played over the same network. I keep getting disconnected with the error "Illegal Packet Received, Terminating Connection". It's not consistent with how long it takes for me to get booted from the game and the host doesn't seem to have any issues. We've tried both the latest version of forge and this version of forge. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Minecraft Version: 1.19.2
Forge Version: 43.1.43

My debug log:

Host debug log:

One of your mods has broken networking code.

Mojang don't put these errors in the log by default. For us to see the error you will need to add the following property to your jvm arguments.

Quote

-Dforge.logging.mojang.level=debug

Since it looks you are using curseforge this in their minecraft settings. Beneath where you change the memory used.

For the server you change user_jvm_args.txt

But I also noticed you have hexerei. There is a known issue with the 1.19 version not working properly in multiplayer.

https://github.com/JoeFoxe/Hexerei-1.18/issues/56

Boilerplate:

If you don't post your logs/debug.log we can't help you. For curseforge you need to enable the forge debug.log in its minecraft settings. You should also post your crash report if you have one.

If there is no error in the log file and you don't have a crash report then post the launcher_log.txt from the minecraft folder. Again for curseforge this will be in your curseforge/minecraft/Install

Large files should be posted to a file sharing site like https://gist.github.com  You should also read the support forum sticky post.

Youd didn't post the debug.logs

Those are the latest.logs which doesn't show debug information.

Since it looks like you are using curseforge, you need to enable the forge debug.log in curseforge's minecraft settings.

Anyway, one of your logs contains this.

Quote

[19:14:46] [Netty Client IO #0/ERROR]: Received empty payload on channel create:main

Which looks like this create issue reported by somebody else: https://github.com/Creators-of-Create/Create/issues/3973

I am sorry, I thought I had enabled it through the Minecraft launcher in the JVM Arguments as when I go through the profile options through Curseforge there is no entry field for JVM Arguments under where you change the memory settings. I will try to find a tutorial tomorrow.

Thank you again for the help you've been giving me.

The problem is you haven't told curseforge that it needs to enable the debug.log for forge.

It is a toggle button in the "advanced" section.

Curseforge calls the jvm arguments "additional arguments". It's at the very bottom.

Anyway, I think your problem is with the create mod, see the link to the issue I posted above.

You should be speaking to them on how to fix it.

If the issue is only with LAN games, you can try setting up a real server.
