Hi folk,

Im having a problem updating my forge. I am running minecraft 1.6.2.  A couple of the mods I want to use tell me I need to be running forge 9.10.1.8**. My current version is 9.10.0.789. I have downloaded the latest version of the forge installer but when I click on it it flashes a window very briefly onto the screen but does not give me the window where I choose if I want client or server version etc that I remember from installing the version Im currently using. Im missing something obvious but I cant figure out what. Ive tried renaming my .minecraft folder and installing from scratch but I just get the same response. So Im stuck wit the forge version I currently have installed. Can anyone please help and tell me what Im missing or failing to do? Thanks

Antony

Thanks for the info but Ive tried that and I dont get that option. The latest version it gives me is "release Forge-1.6.2" It does not give me the option to select anything with an extension number beyond that.

Thanks for the help. I finally sorted it by reinstalling java. Not sure why that should have been necessary though as it was working fine and showed no problems.
