have opened the forge java installer and installed the server with a path of c:/users/44794/desktop/forgeserver after installation it says successfully downloaded Minecraft server and installed 1.18.2-forge-40.2.1
I have then opened up the foregeserver folder and run the "run.bat" file as administrator this is what is shown in the cmd window

C:\Windows\system32>REM Forge requires a configured set of both JVM and program arguments.

C:\Windows\system32>REM Add custom JVM arguments to the user_jvm_args.txt

C:\Windows\system32>REM Add custom program arguments {such as nogui} to this file in the next line before the  or

C:\Windows\system32>REM  pass them to this script directly

C:\Windows\system32>java @user_jvm_args.txt @libraries/net/minecraftforge/forge/1.18.2-40.2.1/win_args.txt
Error: Could not find or load main class @user_jvm_args.txt

C:\Windows\system32>pause
Press any key to continue . . .

I have the forge client installed locally in my Minecraft launcher and it runs and connects to other servers fine I also have the latest version of java installed and am running windows 10 home N

This is usually caused by a wrong version of java. You need java 17 for 1.18.2

It can also be caused by incorrectly modifying (and breaking) the scripts.

Boilerplate:

If you don't post your logs/debug.log we can't help you. For curseforge you need to enable the forge debug.log in its minecraft settings. You should also post your crash report if you have one.

If there is no error in the log file and you don't have a crash report then post the launcher_log.txt from the minecraft folder. Again for curseforge this will be in your curseforge/minecraft/Install

Large files should be posted to a file sharing site like https://gist.github.com  You should also read the support forum sticky post.
