Checking if player is an operator [1.19.2][SOLVED]

Hi! I have a block entity and when you right click it opens a screen. I want to open the screen always when on singleplayer and only for operators when on multiplayer. How can I check if the player is in singleplayer or multiplayer world? And how can I check if the player is an operator when on multiplayer? Thanks in advance.

Assuming you already have the ServerPlayer, you can do this:

// Can be static but doesn't have to be, depending on the use context.
public static boolean checkPlayerIsOp(ServerPlayer player) {
  return player.hasPermissions(2);
}

As for checking if it is singleplayer, there is probably a better option than what I was about to recommend.

I'm not good at modding, but at least I can read a crash report (well enough). That's something, right?

player.hasPermissions(2) will check if the pleyer has cheats enabled which is the equivalent of ops in single player.

That will also handle the case when "open to lan" is used. Meaning guests won't have access.

Boilerplate:

If you don't post your logs/debug.log we can't help you. For curseforge you need to enable the forge debug.log in its minecraft settings. You should also post your crash report if you have one.

If there is no error in the log file and you don't have a crash report then post the launcher_log.txt from the minecraft folder. Again for curseforge this will be in your curseforge/minecraft/Install

Large files should be posted to a file sharing site like https://gist.github.com  You should also read the support forum sticky post.
