Hi, after a bit of pause from minecraft i said to update my mod to 1.6 and i first wanted to try it if it dont work also on 1.6 or what i have to fix before installing workspace. So i downloaded forge installer for 1.6.4 i open it it starts doing something but after like 10-20 seconds it says: These filed failed to download. Try again org.scala-library:2.10.2, org.scala-lang:scala-compiler:2.10.2

So i tried angain but same thing happens always. I tried it later. I tried disabling my antivirus. I tried even reinstaling minecraft. Nothing helped.

Also strange is it says it downloads  a file then it unpacks it and AFTER that it says it has failed to download (what?!)

Since im Java coder as well i can provide console log from installer jar file:

[spoiler=Log]

C:\Users\USER\Desktop>"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Xmx512m -

jar "C:\Users\USER\Desktop\minecraftforge-installer.jar"

    checksums.sha1 failed validation

Any help?

kill your downloaded files and try the new installer.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

I've been buggering with this all night trying to load the 1.6.4 compatible installer from some internet published versions (minecraftforge-installer-1.6.4-9.11.0.892.jar)

I run Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

Was finally successful using version minecraftforge-installer-1.6.4-9.11.0.883.jar from this thread:  http://www.minecraftforge.net/forum/index.php/topic,12491.0.html

Edit:  Wrong link....

Run the versions that dont work from the command line and paste the console output here.

The new installer should work just fine.

And a note, the 883 installer is the same installer for 892

This checksum error seems to confirm other reports of similar issues.

blahblah@blahblah-laptop:~/Downloads$ java -jar minecraftforge-installer-1.6.4-9.11.0.897.jar

And FWIW, the .883 version ran fine on my other laptop user account upgrade as well

Delete the local files and let the installer download them for you. But first zip them and upload them somewhere so I can take a look at them.
