Help Forge installer stuck

The installer won't go past Unpacking packed file scala-compiler-2.10.2.jar.pack.xz

Can someone help me?

I re installed minecraft already.

Heap space when extract something ? Very strange.

Use this command :

java -XX:PermSize=64M -XX:MaxPermSize=64M -jar "minecraftforge-installer-1.6.4-9.11.1.923(1).jar"

EDIT : my mistake, read the reply from lex.

This should solve your problem.

Actually the error says heap space, what you gave him is PermGen space.

The proper argument would be:

-Xmx1024M

 

Anyways this is odd.. I'll see what I can do about supporting it. However, it shouldnt require THAT much memory.. your computer must have it lowered by default.

I am having the exact same issue as above but I'm not sure what to do with Lex's comment.  I am a non-programmer mom trying to install this for my 10-year-old son.  Thanks in advance for your help!

Yes, I looked at the video, and ran the file from Command Prompt, and got the exact same error as thenecroreaper.  I don't know where to put the -Xmx1024M.  Do I insert just that one piece into the java command?

I'm really sorry, but this isn't working for me? I'm fairly certain I'm doing something wrong, but I don't know what. I took a screenshot of the cmd, it basically says that there is no such thing as "Java".

Java is up to date and Installed correctly. Every other program I use with java works except the forge installer. Help?

Use the full path to the java exe as its not in your PATH variable.

You spelled the jar name incorrectly, protip: tab completion works in the console.

Its forge- not forge.

Soo i have tryed to install forge, used .exe .jar and this is what i get when i launch jar form cmd
