I have see this in forestry. the survival pickaxe until it breaks you get an broken survival pickaxe. and i had search in the minecraft jar for the code. but there is only 1 code with drops and i can't believe it that would work if i use the code from block.java. thanks for reading and i hope someone can help me.

Look for the code that plays the break sound. (the Item class maybe?)

There is no breaking sound. in the item datas.

I think to know how it works. i use the drop from blocks in my tools mod.

There is a hook/event for that.

Where? i read the item.java so much if i read it a few times more then i can say what is an the data without reading them.

Not home right now so cannot check, but it is there, just look through them, you will find lots of interesting things too. 

 

Look in ForgeHooks for hooks, and look at all subclasses of the Forge Event class for possible Events.
