In case it matters, I am attempting the run the server on a Mac and I used the installer to get the files.

yes, don't rename it, forge need it and forge can't detect your minecraft_server1.6.4.jar if you rename it.

You can change the name of forge, but not the name of minecraft_server.

I've been trying to run the forge.jar but I keep getting errors saying I can't run that so I used a .command to run the forge.jar when I get this error.

Trying to run with 1.5.2 universal jar by the way. Didn't use the installer, the jar from that also gave me errors.

1.5.2 != 1.6.4

We do not support 1.5.2 anymore, My only advise, read the posted tutorials or update to atleast 1.6.4

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.
