this might be the wrong place to post this, I am not fully sure but, this is kind of a support thing. I currently am using the 1.6.4 forge server for Minecraft because the mods I currently use are not yet up to date with the recent patch. now, it runs fine. it works and everything, but I can't seem to add more RAM, and I am stuck running it with only 100 MB. There is only 3 people that play on the server, so I only really need 1 GB of for the server.

I have read over the tutorials to setting up the server with a .BAT file, but it does not seem to work. I follow the instructions as the instructions read to make it, but when I try to make it run for the server, it will only open for one second before closing, and I am unable to read what the .BAT file says. Is there an easier way to run the forge server with more RAM or something I am missing?

If this helps, I am using a PC, not a mac or Linux. My system is 64-bit, and I believe I can use up to at least 8 GB. Does it make a difference that my manufacturer is Acer? Any explanation and help/tutorial is welcome.

Just like the instructions for a forge server says to open it with for Modding the server, I open the server with minecraftforge-universal-1.6.4-9.11.0.883 and have been trying to use that in the .BAT file. I have put .jar at the end of it, I tried without it, I tried @echo off, etc.

I am not entirely sure how. do you mean what I typed in to make it in notepad? if so, then this is what I put:

@echo off

path=%PATH%; %©:\ %Program Files (x86)%\java\jre7\bin

java -Xms1024M -Xmx1024M -jar minecraftforge-universal-1.6.4-9.11.1.916.jar nogui

I think I may have misunderstood the instructions, but I also tried it without the path=%PATH%; information to no avail.
