Hi,

    I am in the progress on trying to create a hardcore mode mod that works like the single player. I have everything working except the ability to restart the server; instead, the server is shutdown.

    I have read through and find where I believe I could modify the code, but it exists inside the core of minecraft. I know that forge has events that indicate when the server is shutting down. Would it be possible to have an event that could be cancelled which would prevent the System.exit() and start the server?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Try to create another thread or open another instance of java which restarts the server after a few seconds and then closes itself. This is just an Idea so I wont post any code here.

Why are you creating a Hardcore Mod while there is already one made by Minecraft?...

Anyway make a command like /stopmod or /modstop that when it's done it will close the server, on the server close (so with the FMLOnServerStoppingEvent) save everything you need to be saved.

If you can't stop the server check in the MinecraftServer package ;)

The current hardcore mode on multiplayer just bans the player. I want it to work the same way it does on single player for multiplayer.

Stopping the server isn't my problem. I call the same code that is already in the MinecraftServer class; however, I would like it to start it again.

Start this and then stop the server:

Runtime.getRuntime().exec("serverRestarter.jar");  //Should be an executable

The other program:

public static void main(String [ ] args) {
    Thread.sleep(50000); //50 Seconds
    Runtime.getRuntime().exec("server.jar"); //Start the server...
}
