Posted November 27, 201311 yr Hello! I'm working on a Christmas mod and want to add a certain function but don't know where to go from here. I have it so when you place a star on the Christmas tree it checks to see if it's a Christmas tree and if true then it'll spawn presents under the tree but I don't want the presents to spawn underneath it right away. I would like if you have the right set up and then go to bed, the presents would spawn under the tree while you are sleeping or in bed. I hope this wasn't too confusing and would love some help! Thanks! BlockStar Code: public class BlockStar extends BlockFlower{ Random generator = new Random(); protected BlockStar(int par1, Material par2Material) { super(par1, par2Material); this.setCreativeTab(Wintercraft.WintercraftTab); this.setLightValue(0.9375F); } public void onBlockAdded(World par1World, int par2, int par3, int par4) { super.onBlockAdded(par1World, par2, par3, par4); if (par1World.getBlockId(par2, par3 - 1, par4) == Block.leaves.blockID //Layer 2 &par1World.getBlockId(par2, par3 - 2, par4) == Block.wood.blockID &par1World.getBlockId(par2 - 1, par3 - 2, par4) == Blocks.lightsBlock.blockID &par1World.getBlockId(par2 + 1, par3 - 2, par4) == Blocks.lightsBlock.blockID &par1World.getBlockId(par2, par3 - 2, par4 - 1) == Blocks.lightsBlock.blockID &par1World.getBlockId(par2, par3 - 2, par4 + 1) == Blocks.lightsBlock.blockID //Layer 3 &par1World.getBlockId(par2, par3 - 3, par4) == Block.wood.blockID &par1World.getBlockId(par2 - 1, par3 - 3, par4) == Blocks.lightsBlock.blockID &par1World.getBlockId(par2 + 1, par3 - 3, par4) == Blocks.lightsBlock.blockID &par1World.getBlockId(par2, par3 - 3, par4 - 1) == Blocks.lightsBlock.blockID &par1World.getBlockId(par2, par3 - 3, par4 + 1) == Blocks.lightsBlock.blockID &par1World.getBlockId(par2 + 1, par3 - 3, par4 - 1) == Blocks.lightsBlock.blockID &par1World.getBlockId(par2 + 1, par3 - 3, par4 + 1) == Blocks.lightsBlock.blockID &par1World.getBlockId(par2 - 1, par3 - 3, par4 - 1) == Blocks.lightsBlock.blockID &par1World.getBlockId(par2 - 1, par3 - 3, par4 + 1) == Blocks.lightsBlock.blockID //Layer 4 &par1World.getBlockId(par2, par3 - 4, par4) == Block.wood.blockID &(par1World.getBlockId(par2 - 1, par3 - 4, par4) == Blocks.ornament.blockID||par1World.getBlockId(par2 - 1, par3 - 4, par4) == Blocks.ornamentGreen.blockID) &(par1World.getBlockId(par2 + 1, par3 - 4, par4) == Blocks.ornament.blockID||par1World.getBlockId(par2 + 1, par3 - 4, par4) == Blocks.ornamentGreen.blockID) &(par1World.getBlockId(par2, par3 - 4, par4 - 1) == Blocks.ornament.blockID||par1World.getBlockId(par2, par3 - 4, par4 - 1) == Blocks.ornamentGreen.blockID) &(par1World.getBlockId(par2, par3 - 4, par4 + 1) == Blocks.ornament.blockID||par1World.getBlockId(par2, par3 - 4, par4 + 1) == Blocks.ornamentGreen.blockID) &(par1World.getBlockId(par2 + 1, par3 - 4, par4 - 1) == Blocks.ornament.blockID||par1World.getBlockId(par2 + 1, par3 - 4, par4 - 1) == Blocks.ornamentGreen.blockID) &(par1World.getBlockId(par2 + 1, par3 - 4, par4 + 1) == Blocks.ornament.blockID||par1World.getBlockId(par2 + 1, par3 - 4, par4 + 1) == Blocks.ornamentGreen.blockID) &(par1World.getBlockId(par2 - 1, par3 - 4, par4 - 1) == Blocks.ornament.blockID||par1World.getBlockId(par2 - 1, par3 - 4, par4 - 1) == Blocks.ornamentGreen.blockID) &(par1World.getBlockId(par2 - 1, par3 - 4, par4 + 1) == Blocks.ornament.blockID||par1World.getBlockId(par2 - 1, par3 - 4, par4 + 1) == Blocks.ornamentGreen.blockID) &par1World.getBlockId(par2, par3 - 5, par4) == Block.wood.blockID //Layer 6 &par1World.getBlockId(par2, par3 - 6, par4) == Block.cloth.blockID &par1World.getBlockId(par2 - 1, par3 - 6, par4) == Block.cloth.blockID &par1World.getBlockId(par2 + 1, par3 - 6, par4) == Block.cloth.blockID &par1World.getBlockId(par2, par3 - 6, par4 - 1) == Block.cloth.blockID &par1World.getBlockId(par2, par3 - 6, par4 + 1) == Block.cloth.blockID &par1World.getBlockId(par2 + 1, par3 - 6, par4 - 1) == Block.cloth.blockID &par1World.getBlockId(par2 + 1, par3 - 6, par4 + 1) == Block.cloth.blockID &par1World.getBlockId(par2 - 1, par3 - 6, par4 - 1) == Block.cloth.blockID &par1World.getBlockId(par2 - 1, par3 - 6, par4 + 1) == Block.cloth.blockID) { if (!par1World.isRemote) { int randomIndex = generator.nextInt(2); int randomIndex2 = generator.nextInt(2); int randomIndex3 = generator.nextInt(2); int randomIndex4 = generator.nextInt(2); int i1; int i2; int i3; int i4; if (randomIndex == 1){ i1 = Blocks.christmasPresent.blockID; } else i1 = Blocks.present.blockID; if (randomIndex2 == 1){ i2 = Blocks.christmasPresent.blockID; } else i2 = Blocks.present.blockID; if (randomIndex3 == 1){ i3 = Blocks.christmasPresent.blockID; } else i3 = Blocks.present.blockID; if (randomIndex4 == 1){ i4 = Blocks.christmasPresent.blockID; } else i4 = Blocks.present.blockID; par1World.setBlock(par2 - 1, par3 - 5, par4, i1); par1World.setBlock(par2 + 1, par3 - 5, par4, i2); par1World.setBlock(par2, par3 - 5, par4 - 1, i3); par1World.setBlock(par2, par3 - 5, par4 + 1, i4); } } } @Override protected boolean canThisPlantGrowOnThisBlockID(int par1) { return par1 == Block.leaves.blockID; } @Override public EnumPlantType getPlantType(World world, int x, int y, int z) { if (blockID == Blocks.star.blockID) return Plains; return Plains; } @Override public void registerIcons(IconRegister reg) { this.blockIcon = reg.registerIcon("Wintercraft:star"); } }
November 27, 201311 yr Use PlayerSleepInBedEvent . Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable. If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME. Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice. Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked. DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.
November 28, 201311 yr Hi When you place the star, you have to save the coordinates somewhere. Then, in the PlayerSleepInBedEvent, retrieve the coordinates and do your setBlock. A good place might be in the player, i.e. you record the location of the last start that they placed. -Suggest getting an NBTTagCompound from EntityPlayerMP.getEntityData() and using that - so it will get saved automatically. You would need to do this on the server side, not the client. Alternatively, if that's too hard, you could just use a static variable in a class somewhere ( it won't survive a save, but perhaps you don't care about that) Nice idea by the way, I like it! -TGG
