warjort Posted December 28, 2023 Posted December 28, 2023 Quote java.io.EOFException: Unexpected end of ZLIB input stream Expand The zlib error message says the file is "truncated", i.e. it probably didn't fully download. Quote JVM info: Oracle Corporation - 1.8.0_391 - 25.391-b13 Expand It shouldn't make any difference for the insall? But you will need java 17 to run minecraft 1.20 Quote Boilerplate: If you don't post your logs/debug.log we can't help you. For curseforge you need to enable the forge debug.log in its minecraft settings. You should also post your crash report if you have one. If there is no error in the log file and you don't have a crash report then post the launcher_log.txt from the minecraft folder. Again for curseforge this will be in your curseforge/minecraft/Install Large files should be posted to a file sharing site like https://gist.github.com You should also read the support forum sticky post.
Hazardous Potato Posted December 30, 2023 Author Posted December 30, 2023 I tried installing it multiple times, each time i got that same error Quote
warjort Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 (edited) Here's how somebody else fixed a similar problem today. https://forums.minecraftforge.net/topic/141592-problem-when-installing-forge-1171-client-side-mac/#comment-561476 Their problem was the original vanilla minecraft download was corrupted (hadn't finished downloading properly). Your log shows a similar problem (mismatched checksums): Quote Cache: /Users/sterlingrussell/Library/Application Support/minecraft/libraries/net/minecraft/client/1.20.1-20230612.114412/client-1.20.1-20230612.114412-slim.jar Expected: de86b035d2da0f78940796bb95c39a932ed84834 Actual: 2fc4e8fe00b06689e26c059790924656b4db2bed /Users/sterlingrussell/Library/Application Support/minecraft/libraries/net/minecraft/client/1.20.1-20230612.114412/client-1.20.1-20230612.114412-extra.jar Expected: 8c5a95cbce940cfdb304376ae9fea47968d02587 Actual: c74e0edcd9e2589b53b9f4d3841198e300771fb5 Expand You can find the vanilla installs in the "versions" subfolder of your minecraft folder. e.g. from your log above: /Users/sterlingrussell/Library/Application Support/minecraft/versions/1.20.1/1.20.1.jar Edited December 30, 2023 by warjort Quote Boilerplate: If you don't post your logs/debug.log we can't help you.
