Posted December 31, 20231 yr I'm trying to create a block that looks exactly like the grass block. It is using the vanilla grass block model and I registered a block color thing to tint the overlay which works fine, but the texture beneath the overlay is rendering black for some reason. Any ideas what I'm missing? It currently looks like this.
December 31, 20231 yr Posting an image is not a bug report/help request. You need to put something on github that reproduces the problem, so we can see everything in context. Guess (I shouldn't have to guess): You haven't changed the render type to be "cutout" like the vanilla grass block. This is needed when the model has multiple layers drawn over each other. Otherwise it will treat what should be transparent pixels as black. Forge makes this easy by letting you specify it in your block model, e.g. https://github.com/BluSunrize/ImmersiveEngineering/blob/6def2d9c44def83dd109d3b4f1b09d07ae76dcef/src/generated/resources/assets/immersiveengineering/models/block/hemp/bottom0.json#L3 Edited December 31, 20231 yr by warjort Boilerplate: If you don't post your logs/debug.log we can't help you. For curseforge you need to enable the forge debug.log in its minecraft settings. You should also post your crash report if you have one. If there is no error in the log file and you don't have a crash report then post the launcher_log.txt from the minecraft folder. Again for curseforge this will be in your curseforge/minecraft/Install Large files should be posted to a file sharing site like https://gist.github.com You should also read the support forum sticky post.
