I only want to select blocks in an if statemant.

I can do this:

if(itemstack.getItem().itemID <= 265){ things }

But that would only get the vanilla minecraft blocks.

I also want to get all blocks added to the game by mods.

 

I also tried instanceof, but it did not work.

I tried getting bocks from the Block.blocksList[], did not work either.

 

I dont know, could one of u help me?

Try this:

if(itemstack.getItem() instanceof ItemBlock) {things}

Try this:

if(itemstack.getItem() instanceof ItemBlock) {things}

incompatible conditional operand types Item and ItemBlock it says!

When that happens, just go up a few lines and do this:

 

ItemBlock b;

 

Then it'll ask you to import (or create) the class ItemBlock.  Just import it and the "incompatible" conditional error will go away.  That error comes up when it doesn't know what type a class is, so the IDE can't make the comparison and check for validity.

 

(After you import, you can delete the line)

Just needed to import it. thanks draco

You can also hit Ctrl(Cmd)+Shift+O to organize all your imports, and it also imports everything you need.

When I need just one, I don't bother with the shortcut.

Considering I forget the [shift] in the shortcut so frequently...
