Necroposting slightly, but I made an account just to reply to this! I found a solution that worked for me. Cobblemon Counter seems to cause issues when it edits playerdata to store the count, I removed it and my friend with the same issue was able to join. -

Im on forge and Fabric API isnt installed its a ghost mod or something -
I have completely reset my config file to test, it is not the config I do not remember editing another .json file It did not change it
