StigZG Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 When I double clicked install.cmd, Open Terminal said it was downloading something but it wasn't doing anything. It didn't download anything and most importantly it didn't download mcp. I have a Mac. If you can help, I would be SOOOO grateful. Thank you. Quote
LexManos Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Don't use the python system. Move to 1.7 and the gradle system. Quote I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated. Consider supporting the team on Patreon
phigmeta Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 as much as I would like to move to 1.7, much of that platform is not finished and few of the plugins are on that platform. is there an alternative that would allow us to stay on 1.6.4 for the time being? Quote
luacs1998 Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Build 964 uses ForgeGradle and is 1.6 compatible. Quote Read the EAQ before posting! OR ELSE! This isn't building better software, its trying to grab a place in the commit list of a highly visible github project. www.forgeessentials.com Don't PM me, I don't check this account unless I have to.
StigZG Posted January 30, 2014 Author Posted January 30, 2014 I tried the new build and i have the same problem. Quote

StigZG Posted February 6, 2014 Author Posted February 6, 2014 What do you mean by logs? Do I just copy/paste what Terminal was "saying"? Quote
LexManos Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 there is a log file in your gradle folder, make sure you run with -debug. Quote I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated. Consider supporting the team on Patreon
StigZG Posted February 8, 2014 Author Posted February 8, 2014 I tried to install forge src again and it worked this time. I still don't know why it didn't download stuff before. I ran "gradlew" and it downloaded everything but I don't know what to do now. README.txt says that I have to run gradle eclipse or gradle idea but I don't see them anywhere. Quote
StigZG Posted February 8, 2014 Author Posted February 8, 2014 I opened the command line (Open Terminal). I typed gradlew setupDecompWorkspace but Terminal said it doesn't know about a command called "gradlew". Quote
Eternaldoom Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Open Terminal. Change your directory to the Forge folder. Since you are on a mac, type ./gradlew setupDecompWorkspace followed by ./gradlew Eclipse. Quote Check out my mod, Realms of Chaos, here. If I helped you, be sure to press the "Thank You" button!
StigZG Posted February 17, 2014 Author Posted February 17, 2014 I tried doing what you told me but it still doesn't work. I will tell you everything I did so you guys can tell me what I am doing wrong. This is what I did: 1. Run "gradlew" from the forge folder. 2. When Terminal is finished, try typing in the same Terminal window. It doesn't work so I make a new Terminal window. 3. Doing "cd /Users/_______/Downloads/forge-1". 4. Try doing "gradlew setupDecompWorkspace". This part doesn't work. It says: "gradlew: command not found". Quote
StigZG Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 I think it works now I just got one problem. When it finished the ./gradlew setupdecompWorkspace it said: "1 warning :repack forge :setupDecompWorkspace". Also, what do I do now to start coding? Quote
StigZG Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 How do I do that? And how do I start it? Quote
StigZG Posted February 20, 2014 Author Posted February 20, 2014 I did it YAY! Now, to start changing what i want to change in the Minecraft code, do I have to find that part of the code? If so, can you send me a link to where I can get more "familiar" with the coding or do I just go to the minecraft forge wiki? Quote
StigZG Posted February 21, 2014 Author Posted February 21, 2014 I know nothing about coding. A tutorial on how to use forge would be useful for me. Quote
StigZG Posted February 21, 2014 Author Posted February 21, 2014 I figured I don't know anything about using forge. If it's not too much to ask, can you gig me a link to how to use it? Quote
