I have just started coding a sample mod to go through all the new things in forge.

I have created a sample block the block shows up in game but the texture is not working I have created a block texture folder here...

src/main/resources/assets/samplemod/textures/blocks

and called my block texture: sampleBlock.png

I have tried to forms of loading textures but neither worked. I looked at the console output and it states nothing with missing textures. I also tried using a default texture "stone" same result.

Here are the ways I tried to load the texture

In my main class file

public static Block sampleBlock = new BlockSample(3000, Material.rock).setBlockName("sampleBlock").setBlockTextureName("samplemod:sampleBlock");

and in my block class file

@SideOnly(Side.CLIENT)
public void registericons(IIconRegister reg) {
	this.blockIcon = reg.registerIcon(Main.MODID + ":sampleBlock");
}

Any Ideas?

If you have

*.setBlockTextureName("samplemod:sampleBlock");

you don't need the registerIcons method.

need this help also!

Unfortunately, just because you have the same problem doesn't mean you have the same code.

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked.

DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.

Got the same problem and resolved by putting texture files under forge's resources folder rather than the mod project's. However is there a better way?  :-\
