[MC 1.3.2, Forge 4 #239] IllegalArgumentException on mod that previously worked

When upgrading to Forge build #239, this IllegalArgumentException started happening when loading MineCraft with a mod that previously worked perfectly.

Looks like the issue is he isnt specifying instance value properly, and supplying multiple mods in his distro so FML doesn't know which instance goes where.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

As a point of interest, why would this have started happening in the latest Forge builds? Or does it have nothing to do with that, and is a timing issue or something that would only happen periodically?

It would probably be because of nothing related to the forge builds.

This system has been in place for a while.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

@mod.instance did receive an update. Unfortunately. If its a multi mod package it might fail where previously it worked. Send the mod author this way if he doesn't understand the change...

Sorry for necro, but this is one of the first search results for this issue. Possible cause is Forge checking for zlib (the expected hash) and not accepting zlib-ng (the actual hash):

One possible workaround (aside from swapping zlib-ng for zlib which might cause other problems on your system) would be to use the prism flatpak.
