once i load forge, at best i get the background for the main menu in the bottom left corner, with no visible buttons  to actually do anything.  I can still click to use them, just no visible interface.  when I load the game that way it just loads a blue screen.

See the problem I have is that your log states that you had a perfectly fine run of minecraft were able to connect to a local server and shut it down. {Entered single player then exited about 30 seconds later}

So delete all your logs folder and try running again and paste the log it generates, to see if it is more helpful.

Beyond that, as this is not reproducable on any of my machines nore on any of the people I have access to, you're going to have to do a little debugging.

Simplest means of narrowing down the issue is to just install a bunch of versions of forge, and hop between them.

See if you have the same issue in one version and trace it back as far as you can until you stop having the issue.

Your log says you're running 1160, so try jumping back to say, 1150, if you get the error go to 1140, if not go to 1155.

Lather rinse repeat until you can say version X introduced the error it would be REALLY helpful to me as I can map that to the exact lines of code that were changed.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

I am having the same issue as previously stated I downgraded Forge to version .1150 which is the earliest version available for 1.7.10. Fresh install of Minecraft with no other profiles except my original profile and forge. Minecraft works fine prior to installing forge, jack up menu screen after.
