How do i add more RAM to my forge 1.6.4 server? step by step, i need help!

Ok so i have only 4 mods on my server, and only 6 people that play on it. but it always crashes, i was told i needd more ram on the server. But i dont know how to do that. so please help me. Also if i have to create a new server to do this i will, just if there is a way to do so without creating a new server, i would that better please. im begging you all for help please!

I host the server myself, i made the forge server using the forge server installer they have for download on this site. Can i add ram now?

its not crashing anymore, i fixed that, its just  getting like 4-7 fps on the server. i just want more ram on my server. it has 1 gb now. i need to know how to add more. please just tell me.
