I have a server that works fine, I am trying to start a different server with Pixelmon that my friend can play as well. I have never had a mod with a server before. I installed Pixelmon on the single player and it works fine. For my server, I installed Forge, i clicked Install Server and put it into a separate folder. In that folder, I only have libraries, minecraft server, and minecraftforge.

I looked it up and it said that my folder is set to read-only. I checked and it is, I have tried every method to remove the Read-Only mark, and it keeps reverting back to it. i have access to everything so there isn't a restriction on my user. I can still go in and edit files in the folder if I want to, so I don't think it's actually Read-Only.

I'm using Forge 1.7.10 and I've tried version 1.6.4 since that's the version of Minecraft I need for Pixelmon. I don't really know what to do from here, I've never used Forge before. Any help would be great!

Once i open the server through java This keeps repeating on and on until it eventually just reads this and starts spamming it over and over.

" at lq.a(SourceFile:41) ~[minecraft_server.1.7.10.jar:?]

  at lq.b(SourceFile:51) ~[minecraft_server.1.7.10.jar:?]"

then it says

" [current time INFO]: Generating new properties file

[current time WARN]: Failed to save server.properties

  java.io.FileNotFoundException: server.properties (Acess is denied)

at java.io.FileOutputStream.open(Native Method) ~[?:1.7.0_65]

at java.io.FileOutputStream.<init>(Unknown Source) ~[?:1.7.0_65]

at java.io.FileOutputStream.<init>(Unknown Source) ~[?:1.7.0_65]"

then starts spamming

"[the current time INFO]: Generating new properties file"

It hasn't stopped spamming Generating new properties file. And i can't close it unless I end the task in task manager.

You will have to figure out why the folder you are running the game in does not let you write to it.

This is a file system permissions issue nothing to do with Forge or minecraft.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

This log is not from a forge server, you are not running the forge jar. Read up on how to start a forge server.

Well i ran the minecraft server that Forge put in the folder told it to. Is that not correct?
